I am having an Rs.25000 AMB saving account with IDFC first bank saving account and just received an email from the bank regarding revised charges for non maintenance of AMB (Average monthly balance). This revision is just because of recent RBI guidelines on AMB charges. This is reference for Rs.25000 AMB and Rs.10000 AMB saving account then charges will be different.
Details of upcoming changes
Non-Maintenance of AMB: Effective 1st January 2025, a fixed percentage charge will apply for failing to maintain the required AMB in your Savings Account. This charge will be based on the shortfall between the actual balance maintained and the minimum balance required, as agreed at the time of account opening.
New Non-Maintenance Charges for IDFC FIRST Bank Savings Accounts ₹25000 & ₹10000 AMB (Effective 1st January 2025)

These changes are being made in compliance with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines that charges should be a fixed percentage levied on the amount of difference between the actual balance maintained and the minimum balance as agreed upon at the time of opening of account (DBR.Dir.BC.No.47/13.03.00/2014-15).
